Writing what matters
Finding Her is an adult, queer, return to small home town second-chance romance. The story explores love at forty, grief, family dynamics and fierce female friendships.
I wrote this book to women who a finding themselves (and maybe love) later in life.
Evie and Wren Hate Each Other is a YA enemies to lovers romcom in which Evie and Wren are forced to work together at the same summer job. It’s get along or get fired, until they discover there’s chemistry between them...
The story explores coming of age themes, including the experience of discovering who you are, and coming out. As a bisexual woman, the queer representation in the story is important to me, and writing an own voices novel is something I am passionate about.
The novel also examines mental illness, and how relationships are affected by it. I have bipolar disorder, so it’s something I really wanted to examine in the story. I feel that if we keep having conversations around complex mental illness, we can break the stigma many people face.
Evie and Wren Hate Each Other was shortlisted for the Voices From The Intersection Mentorship and also shortlisted for the 2024 Hardie Grant Children’s Publishing Ampersand Prize.
